Jackson Walker is pleased to announce the addition of Kirk Tucker as a partner in the Houston office. Kirk joins the Chambers USA-ranked Corporate & Securities practice with a focus on helping domestic and international energy clients with matters related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, capital raising, and general corporate law.

“I am very excited to join Jackson Walker. As a Texas-based firm, Jackson Walker offers robust experience in the energy industry,” Kirk said. “I look forward to working alongside the Firm’s other excellent attorneys while continuing to serve our clients, many of which have a focus on oil and gas exploration and development, and providing midstream water services to upstream oil and gas companies.”

In his expansive transactional practice, Kirk has handled a wide range of matters involving debt and equity capital raising for both public companies and private equity portfolio companies, having represented both issuers and underwriters, as well as private equity firms and management teams; mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; venture capital and financings; and corporate governance, including representing boards of directors and related committees. In addition, he has served as outside general counsel to management teams and companies with respect to federal securities laws, including Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting, initial public offerings and secondary offerings, preparing annual and periodic reports, proxy statements, and all types of other Securities Act and Securities Exchange Act reports. He has also handled numerous limited partnership, limited liability company, and joint venture agreements.

“Kirk’s diverse skill set is crucial to building the Corporate & Securities practice in Houston,” Houston Managing Partner Kurt D. Nondorf said. “His focus on energy will add to our already robust energy practice.”

John M. Ransom, who chairs the Houston Corporate & Securities practice, said: “Kirk is an outstanding addition to the Firm, and we are glad to have him join our corporate group. He brings such a multifaceted practice that can expand and enhance Jackson Walker’s energy patch practice.”

Kirk received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and his B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin.
