Jackson Walker partner Mike Nasi was quoted in a Law 360 article published on June 4, 2014. The article, titled “Texas Headed For Showdown With EPA Over Carbon Regs,” discussed statewide backlash over the Environmental Protection Agency’s recent proposed rules to cut carbon emissions from power plants.

Mr. Nasi told the publication that the EPA proposal violates the Federal Clean Air Act and makes unrealistic assumptions about Texas’ ability to undergo a massive conversion of its power plant fleet which effectively punishes the State of Texas for having a diverse power mix.

“The EPA has unrealistic []expectations about how that diversity can respond in shifting from one asset to another.” Mr. Nasi said.
