Jackson Walker congratulates Houston partner Nancy Wells Hamilton on her recent appointment as Chair-Elect of the Board of Trustees of Skidmore College, a private liberal arts college located in Saratoga Springs, New York.

“I am honored to have been selected to serve as the Chair of the Board of Trustees. As a proud Skidmore alumna, I am elated to help carry out the college’s vision in this new role,” Nancy said.

As a Trustee, Nancy will help oversee the management of Skidmore College and its initiatives, including the fundraising campaign she previously co-chaired, Creating Our Future: The Campaign for Skidmore. In addition to her involvement in the Creating Our Future campaign, Nancy previously served as a member of the President’s Advisory Council, as an alumna trustee, and as a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

In a Skidmore announcement, previous Chair W. Scott McGraw said: “It’s been a tremendous honor and privilege to serve as chair of the board. With Nancy’s superb leadership and strong belief in the value of higher education, coupled with the dedication and hard work by the faculty and staff and unswerving support from the board, alumni and friends of the College, Skidmore is well-positioned to continue gaining national prominence while providing an exceptional liberal arts education.”

Meet Nancy

Nancy W. Hamilton has appeared in federal and state courts for clients such as CNN, Fox News, Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Phil, CBS, Inc, The Tribune Company, and U.S. Trust. Her practice experience involves First Amendment, intellectual property, complex commercial, and media litigation. Nancy is a frequent writer and lecturer on trial tactics and media law, including What to do When the Media Calls and Building Rapport in the Courthouse for the Texas State Bar and Trial Techniques for the Media Law Resource Center Annual Conferences in 2006 and 2008. She has also appeared on PBS Houston’s KUHT-TV program The Connection on videotaping jury deliberations.
