In the article, titled "El Paso Children's Hospital wants to return to mediation with UMC," Children's Hospital board chairwoman Rosemary Castillo said that the board has decided to return to mediation with UMC over the dispute, which involves nearly $90 million in debt that UMC says it is owed. Susan, who represents Children's Hospital, said that the two parties were only one issue away from an agreement before negotiations broke down. That issue involved the length of certain terms under the proposed agreement. "They went back to their board and everything went away," she said. Now, Children's Hospital says it is willing to return to mediation with a 30-day deadline to reach an agreement. Susan has more than 25 years' experience working as in house counsel and outside counsel for hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association. Susan received her B.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University and her J.D. from Tulane University School of Law.
