Experience and knowledge
Effective representation of corporate matters involving foreign jurisdictions requires special skills that can only be developed through many years of in-country exposure and extensive work with different types of transactions. Jackson Walker was founded in 1887 and, as one of the oldest and largest law firms in Texas, we have a wealth of attorneys with comprehensive experience in handling a myriad of international transactions.
Spanning time and industry
Our attorneys have represented clients in a wide array of industries over the years in structuring, negotiating, and documenting business transactions and arrangements around the world. Our clients include public and private corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, joint ventures, public-private partnerships, and other entities. Our services span the corporate spectrum and include mergers and acquisitions, fund formation, raising capital (private, public and governmental), reorganizations, venture capital, franchising, licensing, commercial finance, antitrust, tax, and ancillary legal matters.
Long-standing global working relationships
Jackson Walker is a founding member of Globalaw, which is a world-wide network of 91 independent law firms with more than 4,800 lawyers in 165 cities around the world. Through this network and other relationships our attorneys have developed, we are able to handle matters for our clients globally. We have attorneys who are licensed in other countries and collectively speak more than 15 different languages. Our relationships allow us to provide clients with cost-effective and efficient service all over the world.
We have international transactional experience in more than 85 jurisdictions:
At Jackson Walker, we routinely collaborate with each other and our clients to determine the best course of action and to provide the most effective and cost-efficient solutions. Whether focusing on single-party agreements or large, complex multi-nation transactions, the combined knowledge of our group members provides our clients with an exceptional one-stop shop for their international legal issues.
Working on complex international transactions requires a highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioner – someone with a depth of knowledge that far surpasses the ability to speak a particular foreign language. At Jackson Walker, our international group includes several attorneys who are foreign nationals or have foreign citizenship, have served as senior executives in companies outside the United States or have been legal counsel to companies with many international locations. The knowledge gained through these experiences offers clients seasoned attorneys who are culturally immersed and who completely appreciate the business practices and methods unique to that country.
