Media Law: Stacy Allen to Speak on Newsroom Legal Issues for TAB

jackson-walker-attorney-thumb-Allen-StacyJackson Walker partner Stacy Allen will appear at two events held by the Texas Association of Broadcasters (TAB) to talk about newsroom legal issues. TAB is an Austin-based trade association that represents the interests of radio and television stations in Texas.

On January 19, Stacy will lead a webinar, titled β€œNewsroom Legal Toolbox,” which will focus on libel defense tools that TAB has secured for broadcast newsrooms. He will also review recent Texas court cases that are affecting newsrooms which TAB hopes to remedy in the 85th Texas Legislature. The webinar will be held from 11:00am – 12:30pm.

On January 24, Stacy will participate in a panel on newsroom legal issues at TAB’s Legislative Day Conference. The conference will be held at the Austin Sheraton at the Capitol.

Stacy Allen has defended media clients against defamation and privacy tort claims, and assisted them in responding to subpoenas and obtaining public records. Over the past 30 years, he has developed an aggressive approach to discovery and trial preparation which has led to favorable judgments and settlements for a wide range of clients. In addition to his media law practice, Stacy represents clients in various areas of litigation, including intellectual property and healthcare. He received his B.A.,Β summa cum laude, from the University of Southern California and his J.D. from Yale Law School.
