Pete Hosey to Speak at Fundamentals of Oil, Gas and Mineral Law CLE

April 18, 2018 | Spotlight

Pete Hosey will be speaking at this year’s Fundamentals of Oil, Gas and Mineral Law on Thursday, April 19th in Houston. The day-long program, designed for beginners as well as experienced practitioners seeking a refresher in OGM Law, is the annual prelude to the Ernest E. Smith Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Institute. In addition to presenting, Pete served on the Planning Committee for both programs.

Pete’s presentation entitled “Are We There Yet? The Start and Finish of an Oil and Gas Lease” examines the primary basic considerations in the creation and termination of an oil and gas lease, including the most common savings clauses and options available to avoid termination claims.

The Institute, now in its 44th year, is a leading course for attorneys, corporate lawyers, E&P operators, and landmen to learn about the latest developments in oil and gas. It is presented by the University of Texas School of Law together with the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, which Pete currently chairs. Each year, the Institute brings together a distinguished faculty of academics and practitioners to share their expertise and consider the latest oil and gas developments.
