Biography

Edgar ("Jed") C. Morrison, Jr. has practiced health care law since 1981. Prior to moving to San Antonio, Mr. Morrison was Republican Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Budget Committee and was later counsel to the Health Care Financing Administration in the Department of Health and Human Services, in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Morrison specializes in the regulatory and transactional aspects of health care law. He has extensive background in Medicare and Medicaid regulatory and reimbursement issues, antitrust, fraud and abuse, physician referral legislation (including recruitment contracts and joint ventures), and managed care issues. In 2000-2001, Mr. Morrison served as Special Outside Counsel to the Texas Attorney General for managed care matters. His clients include physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, medical equipment suppliers, pharmacies, and other health care providers.

Organization Membership

Mr. Morrison is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the San Antonio Bar Association, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and is a past director and Chairman of the Health Law Council for the State Bar of Texas. He is a member of the Health Law Exam Commission for the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Morrison is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
