Opportunity Capital seminar on May 12, 2011, in Austin Texas.
Mr. Hornberger, Mr. Castañeda and Mr. Treviño spoke on the tax and legal considerations for Mexican entrepreneurs expanding and moving to Texas. Mr. Hornberger practices in the Tax and International sections of Jackson Walker. His tax practice emphasizes transactional and international tax matters and tax controversy issues. Mr. Hornberger received both his B.B.A. degree,
with high honors, and his J.D. degree,
with honors, from The University of Texas, and he received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University. He is fluent in the Spanish language.
Mr. Castañeda focuses primarily on cross-border trade, investment and lending transactions and matters involving international trade. Before attending law school, he was employed by a publicly-traded financial services company and worked with a consortium of institutional investors where he led the acquisition of distressed asset portfolios throughout Latin America. Mr. Castañeda received his B.B.A. degree in Finance and International Business from Baylor University and his J.D. degree,
with honors, from The University of Texas School of Law. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Mr. Treviño focuses his practice primarily on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and general corporate matters. Being licensed in Texas and Mexico, Mr. Treviño is uniquely positioned to help clients effectively negotiate complex cross-border transactions. Mr. Treviño obtained his law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, his M.B.A. from Thunderbird School of Global Management and Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, and his LL.M. from The University of Texas School of Law. He is fluent in Spanish.
