Jackson Walker associate Joel Heydenburk was recently featured in Fort Worth Business Press, where he was not only listed as a recipient of the publication's esteemed "40 Under 40" award, but also spotlighted in a full-page article.

The real estate attorney was interviewed on his involvement with the Fort Worth community, where he expressed his love of the city, his practice, and his favorite organizations.

"I had always wanted to practice and live in Fort Worth," Mr. Heydenburk told Fort Worth Business Press. "When the opportunity presented itself at Jackson Walker, I jumped at it. The firm has always encouraged its lawyers to get involved in the community. I started getting involved with the Fort Worth-Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association shortly after I joined the firm and my community involvement expanded from there."

He was nominated for the award by JW Fort Worth managing partner Susan Halsey, who also works in the real estate practice group in Fort Worth.

Mr. Heydenburk focuses his practice on real estate and finance transactions. Mr. Heydenburk regularly represents landlords in the preparation and negotiation of commercial office, retail, and industrial property leases in Texas and other states across the nation. Mr. Heydenburk also has experience in the preparation of loan documents and associated real estate documents for a large commercial mortgage lender and an international bank. He also represents commercial debt holders and servicers in foreclosure proceedings in Texas. Mr. Heydenburk earned his B.B.A. degree from Texas Christian University. He received his M.B.A. and his J.D. degree from Texas Tech University, where he was Business Manager of the Texas Tech Law Review.
