Jackson Walker partner Peter Hosey
was recently elected as Treasurer of the Council of the Oil, Gas & Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. Mr. Hosey previously served as a Council Member and Editor of the Section's Reporter
Mr. Hosey's election and service continue a long tradition of leadership for Jackson Walker within the Oil, Gas & Energy Resources Law Section. In fact, when Mr. Hosey completes his term, Jackson Walker will have had a representative on the Council for 27 consecutive years. Partner David Dunlap served as Section Chair in 1997-98, Mike Pearson in 2008-09, and one of the firm's name partners, A.W. Walker, Jr., headed the Section in 1941-42. Section leadership positions follow a progression so that once one is elected as Treasurer, he or she will remain on the Council to serve consecutive terms as Secretary, Vice-Chair, Chair-Elect, Chair, and Immediate Past Chair. Mr. Hosey is slated to serve as Chair in 2017-2018.

Mr. Hosey has more than 33 years of experience representing clients in the energy and natural resources area. He has advised clients concerning all aspects of exploration, production, transportation, processing, sale and marketing of oil and gas and other natural resources. Mr. Hosey not only advises clients with regard to oil and gas matters, but also has many years' experience with regard to the exploration, production, transportation and leasing of hard minerals, including coal and uranium. Mr. Hosey has also advised clients concerning the sale and purchase of natural gas storage facilities and secondary recovery operations. He advises clients regarding the formation of and use of various entities, both public and private, and the financing of the acquisition and development of oil and gas, coal, uranium, and related assets. Mr. Hosey received his B.A. from the University of Texas and his J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law where he is an adjunct professor and soon to be honored as a Distinguished Alumnus of St. Mary's University Law School.
