Bob Richardson spoke at the
56th Annual Texas CPA Tax Institute. The
Institute was November 19, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency North Dallas in Richardson, Texas and November 20, 2009 at Airport Hilton in San Antonio, Texas.
Mr. Hornberger and Mr. Richardson co-presented "
Tax Aspects of Distressing Times (In and Out of Bankruptcy)." They discussed selected Federal Income Tax aspects of debt restructurings and bankruptcy tax provisions and practical tips for accountants who had clients in financial distress. To learn more about the

Mr. Hornberger practices in the Tax and International sections of Jackson Walker. His tax practice emphasizes transactional and international tax matters and tax controversy issues. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Hornberger received both his B.B.A. degree,
with high honors, and his J.D. degree,
with honors, from The University of Texas, and he received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University. He is fluent in the Spanish language.
Mr. Richardson concentrates his practice on representing secured and unsecured creditors, creditors' committees, trustees, and Chapter 11 debtors and serving as a trustee or receiver in securities broker/dealer and trust company liquidations. He has extensive experience in bankruptcy litigation including discharge and dischargeability claims, relief from the automatic stay, and avoidable transfers. Mr. Richardson attended the United States Military Academy at West Point from 1965 through 1967. He received his B.A. degree,
with honors, in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1969, and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1972.
