Biography
Daniel Scardino represents technology, interactive media, and entertainment industry clients in a variety of intellectual property and corporate matters, including publishing, development, licensing, copyright, trademark, securities, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate governance. Mr. Scardino has assisted in the development, production, and distribution of interactive, music, film, and television projects. He has counseled clients in corporate and partnership structuring and assisted with and negotiated asset and equity deals ranging in value from a few million to over a billion dollars. Mr. Scardino also has extensive experience with the premerger notification requirements of the Hart Scott Rodino Antitrust Improvement Act. He also has considerable litigation experience in a variety of complex and industry specific litigation matters, including patent litigation, trademark and copyright disputes, and securities fraud and shareholder oppression.
Memberships
Mr. Scardino serves on the Advisory Board of the Austin Music Foundation and is a former member of the Board of Directors of Public Access Community Television (PACT), the nonprofit that manages the City of Austin public access resources.

Mr. Scardino was named a "Texas Super Lawyer - Rising Star" in Entertainment Law by Texas Monthly magazine in 2006-2008.

He was a key note speaker at Open Government 2002 - A Symposium on Access to Public Information and Open Meetings in Texas; a guest lecturer to the entertainment law class at The University of Texas School of Law; a panelist at the 2005 Texas AP Broadcasters Convention discussing the reporter's privilege in Texas; and he has lectured to several film and music industry groups in Austin.
