Biography

Michael P. Haggerty is currently co-head of the Jackson Walker Finance practice group. He represents a number of financial institutions, including banks, credit companies, insurance companies and other entities in connection with a variety of real estate, commercial, and corporate lending transactions.

Mr. Haggerty's commercial mortgage practice includes the negotiation, structuring, and documentation of interim and permanent financing of office buildings, shopping centers, retirement facilities, restaurants, industrial properties, and multifamily residential projects. The credit facilities involve both single asset and portfolio transactions; multi-state transactions; partnerships, corporations, REITs, conduits, and pension funds; equity participations; loan participations; letters of credit; multi-creditor facilities; and commercial and residential mortgage warehouse lines of credit.

Mr. Haggerty also represents a number of financial institutions and real estate companies in connection with debt restructuring, foreclosures, note sales and asset dispositions.

Mr. Haggerty's commercial and corporate lending practice has included the negotiation, structuring and documentation of acquisition, working capital, and general corporate loans, both secured and unsecured. The credit facilities have included syndicated, multi-state, and multi-asset facilities including asset pool financing, some of which involved the acquisition of secured and unsecured promissory notes acquired in a bulk purchase.

Directorships

Mr. Haggerty is a Director of North Dallas Bank & Trust Co. North Dallas Bank is one of Dallas' oldest and largest regional banks, with assets exceeding $1 billion. He serves on the audit and investment committees for the bank. Mr. Haggerty also serves on the board of directors of CNL Healthcare Properties, Inc. CNL Healthcare Properties is a real estate investment trust which owns properties throughout the United States within the senior housing and healthcare sectors. Mr. Haggerty serves on the audit committee for CNL Healthcare Properties.

Community Involvement

Mr. Haggerty is Past Chairman of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas and serves on the Executive Committee for the YMCA. He also serves on the board of directors of the YMCA Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas. Mr. Haggerty is also a member of the Salesmanship Club, which sponsors and runs the Byron Nelson Golf Classic. He is past Chairman of the Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers, which operates the various philanthropic programs sponsored by the Salesmanship Club, and past Chairman of the Dallas Zoological Society.

Mr. Haggerty is listed in the 2006-2013 editions of The Best Lawyers in America under Real Estate Law and was named a "Super Lawyer" by Thomson Reuters (2003-2012). In 2012 and 2013, he was named a "Best Lawyer in Dallas" by D Magazine.
