Peter J. Bean

Biography Peter Bean works with public and private sector clients in all areas of employee benefits and executive compensation. He has experience assisting clients in the design, drafting, and compliance aspects of retirement plans, health and disability plans, deferred compensation plans, stock option plans and other equity compensation plans, severance arrangements, and executive employment agreements. He also has experience analyzing employee benefit issues involved in mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.Mr. Bean has worked with clients to navigate the stringent requirements of Sections 409A and 457 of the Internal Revenue Code, assisting in the drafting and amending of both plan documents and individual employment or severance agreements; compliance issues; and correctional measures. Because his practice is focused on federal income tax and ERISA issues, Mr. Bean also assists clients with the filing of determination letter requests, the submittal of retirement plans under the voluntary correction program of the IRS, and the correction of prohibited transactions, including the calculation of excise taxes due.
