Are small municipalities subject to the requirements of the Emergency FMLA Expansion Act?
The Emergency FMLA Expansion Act, unlike traditional FMLA, applies to employers with fewer than 50 employees. Both the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and the Emergency FMLA Expansion Act generally apply to a State, the District of Columbia, a Territory or possession of the United States, a city, a municipality, a township, a county, a parish, or a similar government entity subject to exceptions for health care providers and emergency responders.
