Chris Rourk Delivers Presentation on Trademark, Copyright, and Licensing for Engineers to IEEE Dallas

Jackson Walker partner Chris Rourk delivered a presentation titled “Trademark, Copyright and Licensing for Engineers” on Monday, January 12, 2015, to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Dallas Consultants Network.

The IEEE is a professional organization that organizes technical, educational, and scientific meetings to benefit its members. The Dallas Section includes 4,000 local members with more than 20 Society chapters. They have monthly meetings as well as a weekly newsletter that publishes upcoming events and special activities.

Mr. Rourk has extensive experience in helping clients protect their intellectual property in diverse technology fields, including the semiconductor, software and telecom fields. He has prepared and filed more than 600 patent applications, has prosecuted in excess of 300 patents to issuance, and manages client domestic and international patent and trademark portfolios. He has also assisted with numerous intellectual property transactional matters, including licensing, mergers and acquisitions, funding transactions, and joint ventures. Mr. Rourk is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida and an inventor on several patents. He received his B.S.E.E., cum laude, from the University of Florida, his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, and his M.Eng. from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
