Jackson Walker Joins Diversity Lab’s “Moments to Movements Hackathon”

July 1, 2024 | Spotlight

Jackson Walker proudly announces our participation in Diversity Lab’s “Moments to Movements Hackathon.” Our firm joins over 100 law firm partners, in-house leaders, and industry experts in a pitch competition aimed at addressing some of the most challenging diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) issues facing the legal industry.

Chad Cole, our Social Impact & Sustainability Manager, will serve as a Hackathon DEI advisor.

“Participating as a DEI advisor in Diversity Lab’s 2024 Moments to Movements Hackathon has been an inspiring journey,” said Chad. “It’s a privilege to contribute to an initiative that champions inclusivity, belonging, and innovation, fostering a space where diverse voices can drive meaningful change.”

“It’s a privilege to contribute to an initiative that champions inclusivity, belonging, and innovation, fostering a space where diverse voices can drive meaningful change.”

From March to July 2024, leaders will collaborate in small teams to develop sustainable and scalable solutions that strengthen DEI across the legal profession and within their organizations. Their focus will be on improving workplace practices and ensuring fair and equal access to opportunities for underrepresented lawyers.

Previous Diversity Lab Hackathons have produced impactful initiatives such as the Mansfield Rule, a data-driven, behavioral science-backed certification process. On July 11, 2024, the teams will present their solutions to a panel of judges and an audience of over 200 leaders at NYU School of Law. The winning ideas will be further developed by Diversity Lab and started with the participating law firms and legal departments.
