Jackson Walker partner Willie Hornberger was featured on the cover of the July/August 2013 edition of Today’s CPA, a bimonthly publication of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).

The cover story, “Follow the Leader,” provides an in-depth Q&A with Mr. Hornberger, in which he talks of his journey to being named chairman of the TSCPA. From why he chose accounting and tax law, to the two most influential mentors of his career, Mr. Hornberger discusses various aspects of his personal and professional life, and why he enjoys helping others most.

“The most rewarding is serving people. People ask me how I do everything I do. Law and accounting work can be difficult and at times stressful, adversarial. But by embracing a commitment to serve the people around me and in my community, my job is also incredibly fulfilling,” Mr. Hornberger told the publication.

In addition to being featured on the cover, Mr. Hornberger was also included in the Editor’s Note section of the publication titled, “Chairman’s Message,” in which he discussed his plans for the upcoming year.

“My hope is for all of us to inspire each other to serve our clients and our communities as leaders. Therefore, ‘Serve Well, Lead Well,’ will be my motto as 2013–2014 TSCPA chairman for the coming year.”

Mr. Hornberger practices in the Tax and International sections of Jackson Walker. His tax practice emphasizes transactional and international tax matters and tax controversy issues. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Hornberger received both his B.B.A. degree, with high honors, and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Texas, and he received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University. He is fluent in Spanish.
