Jackson Walker is proud to announce that partner Jonathan E. Lass has been appointed to The University of Texas System Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee (CCEC). He was inducted on Thursday, September 18, 2025, in London, England, by UT System Chancellor John Zerwas.
“I’m honored to join the Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee and support Chancellor Zerwas in advancing UT System’s mission,” stated Jonathan. “I look forward to applying my legal experience to advise on the strategic direction of the 40 acres. Working towards the common good of the University of Texas has a special place in my heart as both a professor and an alumnus.”
“Working towards the common good of the University of Texas has a special place in my heart as both a professor and an alumnus.”
The CCEC promotes the initiatives of the UT System Chancellor and recognizes individuals who have provided significant support to the UT System and its institutions. The Executive Committee serves as a strategic advisory group for the Chancellor and works to educate and engage alumni, friends, constituents, and the public about Texas higher education and health care initiatives—advancing awareness of the UT System’s work and services.

Jonathan’s experience advising complex organizations on governance, strategy, and risk management will be an asset to the CCEC. His proven ability to lead cross‑disciplinary initiatives and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders equips him to help the committee translate evolving legal and regulatory considerations into practical guidance.
An unincorporated nonprofit association founded in 1965, the CCEC comprises supporters representing the UT System’s academic and health institutions. Members convene at two meetings each year, supplemented by a variety of virtual conversations on critical and timely issues that bring together UT’s top experts.
