Jackson Walker partner Michael J. Nasi has been named to the National Law Journal’s inaugural list of 50 Energy & Environmental Trailblazers. He was featured in the Journal’s April 27, 2015, issue.

Among Mike’s trailblazing accomplishments was his involvement in the drafting and passage of several pieces of legislation that created the most comprehensive financial and regulatory incentive package in the nation for new electric power generation technology and related carbon dioxide storage projects, including enhanced oil recovery projects. The program helped one of Mike’s clients fund a billion dollar, first-of-its-kind project in Texas. The Texas program has been held up as a model roadmap for such technology across the country.

Mike is a partner with the Environmental and Legislative Affairs Practice Group in the Austin office of Jackson Walker L.L.P. where he practices environmental law in areas of air, water, reclamation and waste management and manages the firm’s air quality practice. As part of the firm’s Environmental and Energy practice groups, Mike secures environmental permits for and is active in state and federal policy development on behalf of corporations, governmental entities, and cooperatives in the electric power generation, mining, oil & gas, steel manufacturing, and recycling industries. Mike was recognized in 2010 by Environmental Law 360 as one of the “Top 10 Environmental Attorneys in America Under 40” and has been honored in Who’s Who—Texas for Environmental Law, in The Best Lawyers in America under Environmental Law, as a “Super Lawyer” (2012-2014) and “Rising Star” (2005, 2010) by Thomson Reuters, and was included in the 2013-2014 editions of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in Environment. The Austin Business Journal named him to their “Who’s Who in Energy” list in 2013.
