Pat Sharkey Speaks at Alternative Dispute Resolution Webinar

Jackson Walker partner Patrick T. Sharkey will serve as one of two panelists at the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estates Law webinar on February 19, 2014.

The presentation, titled “Dealing with Dispute Resolution: Tips for Drafting ADR Provisions in Leases,” will focus on arbitration provisions in leases and tips for drafting. The discussion will also include the use of appraisers and mediators and/or other alternative dispute resolution methods to resolve lease disputes.

Mr. Sharkey has over 35 years of experience as a commercial real estate attorney representing sophisticated clients in a diverse and dynamic blend of real estate transactions. Client engagements include the representation of landlords and tenants in office, industrial and retail leasing. His experience also encompasses specialty leases, including hospital leases, ground leases for medical office buildings, ground leases for automobile dealerships, and manufactured housing leases (Eagle Ford Shale employee housing). In addition, Mr. Sharkey has extensive experience in acquisitions and dispositions of office buildings, industrial centers, healthcare properties and undeveloped land, condominium conversions and development of healthcare campuses. He is dedicated to providing his clients with superlative service and results-oriented legal representation, acting as a guide through the often intricate maze of legal and business issues his clients face. Mr. Sharkey received his B.A. degree from Columbia University and his J.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University.
