Richard Howell Accepted to the Globalaw Leadership Programme

Jackson Walker partner Richard Howell was accepted to the 2016 Globalaw Leadership Programme, a one-year leadership training program.

Globalaw is a worldwide network of more than 115 independent law firms that provides clients of its members with international legal resources. The objective of the Globalaw Leadership Programme is to mentor the next generation of the legal profession for leadership, and the GLP includes training on Globalaw’s services, leadership development, law firm best practices, networking, and business development.

Each year, GLP members meet at the start of the program at the Americas Regional Meeting to build relationships among the participants. Richard Howell will participate in the Americas Regional Meeting in Miami, Florida, from March 10 – 12, 2016.

After the initial meeting, participants will meet once monthly through video conferences before a final face-to-face meeting, during the Globalaw Annual Members Meeting in Dubai.

Richard Howell is a commercial trial lawyer. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of industries in complex disputes that require a skilled and creative presence in the courtroom. In the past four years, Richard Howell has served as the lead trial attorney for multiple banks, a national health system, and oil & gas industry clients in seven trials, as well as many other contested hearings. In that time, he has obtained judgments and awards in excess of $1.25 million and $3.5 million when representing plaintiffs, and he has obtained dismissals of lawsuits and total defense jury verdicts and judgments for defendants. Richard Howell has also represented clients (including two major pipeline operators, a national bank, and a chemical plant) in “emergency” actions to enjoin or avoid injunctions of business activities. Additionally, during the past four years, Richard Howell has assisted colleagues in five jury trials and a bench trial. Richard Howell received his B.A. degree, cum laude, from the University of Texas and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Baylor University School of Law.
