Scott McElhaney Serves as Chair of Dallas Bar Foundation Board of Trustees for 2019

Dallas partner Scott M. McElhaney was elected to serve as the 2019 Chair of the Dallas Bar Foundation Board of Trustees.

As Chair of the Board of Trustees, Scott will lead the Foundation’s efforts to promote justice, provide scholarships for law students, and maintain legal aid facilities for the indigent. Among other projects, the Foundation has since 1981 funded the Sarah T. Hughes Diversity Scholarships, a program that has enabled outstanding minority law students to attend local law schools.

Scott has served as a Trustee of the Dallas Bar Foundation since 2015, and was elected to serve as Chair of the Board of Trustees in January. Scott has been active in the Bar and legal community, serving as President of the Dallas Bar Association in 2014, and chairing the DBA’s Equal Access to Justice Campaign and the DBA Business Litigation Section and Judiciary Committee.

Scott M. McElhaney aims to help clients cost-effectively resolve commercial disputes and employment law matters. Scott tries cases, handles appeals, and provides counsel for large and small companies as well as business executives. He has over 25 years of experience in contract and commercial tort suits and trade secret and non-competition agreement cases. He regularly advises businesses on employment disputes and handles employment discrimination, ERISA and other labor claims. Scott has also represented managed care organizations in a variety of commercial disputes. He focuses on the long-term commercial needs of his clients by identifying risks and providing strategies for handling complex legal challenges.
