Tom Groves Speaks on Estate and Legal Planning for Canadians Living in the U.S.

The Seminar focused on unique issues related to investments, taxation, and estate planning for Canadian citizens living in the United States on a permanent or temporary basis. Mr. Groves led the discussion of issues related to estate planning.

The Canadian Club of Houston is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Canadian culture and commerce in the City of Houston. Members have access to a wide variety of social and business networking events attended by Canadians and Friends of Canada.

Mr. Groves gave a similar presentation to the Canada Club of North Texas on November 22, 2014, in Plano, Texas, on cross-border investment, tax, and estate planning.

The Canada Club of North Texas is a growing organization, founded in 2002, that is made up of Canadians and their family members who reside in the North Texas areas

Mr. Groves is the Co–Chair of the Wealth Planning, Probate and Trusts section of Jackson Walker. He practices in the Wealth Planning and Transfer, Tax and International sections and is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has extensive experience representing a wide variety of clients in all aspects of estate planning and estate and trust administration and has been named a “Texas Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters (2003, 2005, 2007, 2013), a “Top Lawyer” by Texas Monthly (2014), and A “Five Star Estate Planning Attorney” by Five Star Professional (2014). Mr. Groves received his B.A. degree from Southern Illinois University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and Notes and Comments Editor of the Southwestern Law Journal.
