Jackson Walker Welcomes Jonny Heins to Real Estate Practice

Jonny HeinsJackson Walker is pleased to announce the addition of Jonny Heins as a senior counsel in the Houston office. Jonny focuses on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures, leasing, and financing transactions. He has particular experience in office leasing, the acquisition and sale of developed and undeveloped land, and park development projects.

“Our clients will benefit from having Jonny on their side in a transaction,” said Lewis S. Kasner, chair of the Houston Real Estate practice. “His experience handling commercial real estate transactions in the E&P industry will provide a whole new depth to our team.”

Prior to joining Jackson Walker, Jonny managed Permian Basin real estate development, surface, and government relations at a company that acquires, develops, and explores for oil and natural gas properties in the Permian Basin. In that role, Jonny managed 1,000,000 SF of owned corporate real estate, 300,000 SF of leased corporate real estate and 165,000 acres of surface in Texas and New Mexico, while also engaging with trade organizations on regulatory and legislative matters. Outside of his practice, Jonny is the Board President of MARC, a local Midland nonprofit that empowers individuals with developmental disabilities, and the Secretary of Midland Downtown Park Conservancy, which he managed the formation of in 2019 to construct and operate Centennial Park in Downtown Midland.

“I’m very excited to join the team at Jackson Walker,” Jonny said. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Jackson Walker team on several prior projects, including the formation of the Midland Downtown Park Conservancy, and I know Jackson Walker will be the best place for me as I focus on building my practice.”

Jonny received his B.A. from the George Washington University and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.
