Jackson Walker partner Susan A. Halsey was honored at the Second Annual Tribute to Women In Business Luncheon held on March 11, at The Worthington Hotel. This special event gave employers the opportunity to honor women who have made significant contributions to their companies.

Forty-one exceptional businesswomen were recognized for their many professional accomplishments and cheered for being mentors and role models. Their employers, from many different areas of the business community, were congratulated for providing an environment in which women could excel.

Connie Beck, President of NationsBank, was Honorary Chairwoman. Co-chairs for Tribute were Linda Pavlik, Pavlik and Associates, and Gretchen Smith, The Whitney Smith Company, Inc. Deborah Ferguson, reporter for NBC Channel 5, served as emcee. An enthusiastic crowd of 570 heard keynote speaker Marci Shimoff, co-author of the national bestseller Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul, deliver her powerful message about living dreams, overcoming obstacles and balancing lives.

In addition to honoring successful women, the Tribute Luncheon raised important dollars for YWCA programs that impact the lives of women struggling to succeed. The Tribute to Women in Business is an annual event with next year’s luncheon scheduled for March 29, 1999.
