Biography

Henrik Strand is an associate in Jackson Walker’s Austin office as a member of the Electric Regulatory group. Henrik’s practice focuses on advising public utilities, developers, financial institutions, and trade groups on a wide array of regulatory compliance, due diligence, and policy advocacy matters. His experience spans electric regulation both within and outside of Independent System Operator territories, including the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), Southwest Power Pool (SPP), and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) regions.

Henrik is recognized for his ability to guide clients through complex and multi-faceted compliance challenges, including contested cases and high-stakes proceedings before public utility commissions and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He has significant experience preparing direct testimony, managing rate and certificate proceedings, and supporting clients in major transactional and compliance matters, such as tax equity deals and renewable energy project development. Henrik’s practice also includes advising on wildfire mitigation planning and regulatory compliance for utilities across the western United States.

Henrik works closely with clients to develop solutions that address both immediate regulatory challenges and long-term business objectives, ensuring that clients are well-positioned to succeed in a rapidly changing energy and environmental environment.

Prior to joining Jackson Walker, Henrik’s experience included clerkships with the Honorable Thomas M. Reavley at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the Honorable John P. Devine at the Texas Supreme Court, and the Honorable Chief Justice Nathan Hecht of the Texas Supreme Court.
