Lee Hunt Discusses Publicity Rights and Deepfakes at UT Law CLE’s Entertainment Law Institute

November 3, 2026 | Speaking Engagements

Jackson Walker senior counsel Lee B. Hunt spoke at UT Law CLE’s 36th Annual Entertainment Law Institute, held September 10–11, 2026, in Austin, Texas.

Presented by The University of Texas School of Law and the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, the conference brought together nationally regarded practitioners and industry professionals to examine emerging trends and developments across music, film, games, and digital media.

In a presentation titled “Deep Fakes Are Not Alright3: Exploring Recent Celebrity Strategies to Protect Publicity Rights,” Lee addressed the growing challenges of protecting identity, name, image, and likeness in an era of deepfakes, artificial intelligence, and user-generated content.

He explored recent filings and litigation pursued by celebrities seeking to protect their likenesses and publicity rights as rapidly evolving technologies make unauthorized digital replicas easier to create and distribute.

Jackson Walker was proud to sponsor the institute and support its practical discussion of legal issues shaping the entertainment industry.
