Join Meghan Griffiths as she highlights recent administrative and judicial decisions affecting the gas and electric industries in Texas.
Meghan E. Griffiths represents clients in regulatory matters, litigation, and commercial transactions involving the electric power industry. Her clients span all sectors of the industry, including owners of conventional and renewable generation, electric utilities, utility investors, retail electric providers, and large consumers. A recognized practitioner for Energy: State Regulatory & Litigation (Electricity) by Chambers USA, Meghan advises commercial clients with electric regulatory considerations related to project development and finance, mergers and acquisitions, interconnection, and power supply. Meghan also has broad administrative law experience, advising clients on open government, open records, and government contracting matters.
Environmental Challenges and Impacts on Energy Infrastructure
During this panel discussion, Richard Howell and Mike Nasi join moderator John K. Arnold (Locke Lord) as they explore the impact of environmental, social and governance (ESG) on the development and operation of energy infrastructure. They will also examine issues related to the electric generation industry and to natural gas flaring and pipeline development.
Richard A. Howell represents commercial clients in complex disputes that require a skilled and creative presence in the courtroom. Richard has served as the lead trial attorney for oil & gas industry clients, national and regional banks, and other businesses in many trials, as well as many cases that were resolved before trial. Richard has also represented many clients—including two pipeline operators, a national bank, a private equity company, a chemical plant, and a food distributor—in “emergency” actions to enjoin or avoid injunctions of business activities and actions to obtain receiverships over property.
Michael J. Nasi’s compliance counseling, permitting, and enforcement defense work spans a wide range of federal and state energy and environmental regulatory programs. Mike is counsel for parties in ongoing regulatory proceedings relating to carbon dioxide, interstate air quality, regional haze, and coal combustion residuals, including appeals pending before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth, Eighth, Tenth, and D.C. Circuits, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States. He also practices before the EPA, TCEQ, the Texas Railroad Commission, and the Texas Legislature. In recognition of his practice, Mike has been named among Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (since 2003) and The Best Lawyers in America (since 2006), which recently named him Austin’s 2021 Lawyer of the Year in the area of Environmental Law.
