Bob Latham Reelected to World Rugby Executive Committee

Jackson Walker partner Bob Latham has been reelected to serve on the World Rugby Executive Committee for a term of four years.

Bob has served on the 12-person committee since 2011. He is currently Chairman of the Board of USA Rugby and is the representative from Rugby Americas North to the World Rugby Council.

“I am honored and excited to serve on the World Rugby EXCO for another four years, especially with such accomplished and committed colleagues,” said Bob. “It promises to be an eventful time in global rugby, and the breadth of experience and perspectives represented on EXCO will serve the global game well.”

Bob is the only American ever to serve on the World Rugby Executive Committee in the 130 years of the organization. He is joined on the EXCO by representatives from traditional rugby powers England, Argentina, France, Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. In his 33 years as a trial lawyer Bob has distinguished himself in multiple areas.  He has developed a nationally recognized expertise in the areas of media law and intellectual property litigation and chairs both practice areas at Jackson Walker.  At the same time, his trial practice involves complex commercial disputes as well as unfair competition, securities, probate, employment, professional negligence, banking, construction, real estate, product liability, telecommunications, energy, international, and class action matters. Bob received his A.B. degree from Stanford University and his J.D. degree from the University of Virginia, where he served as Senior Editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law.
