Jennifer previously served as a Justice on Texas’s First Court of Appeals and currently serves as the chair of Jackson Walker’s appellate section. With extensive experience on both sides of the bench, Justice Caughey excels in litigating complex appeals. Her areas of expertise include statutory and contractual interpretation, constitutional law, healthcare, insurance, energy, administrative law, and professional liability.
Justice Caughey has a robust practice in Texas, where she has successfully represented clients in significant appeals across the state, including at the Texas Supreme Court and various Texas Courts of Appeals. She has a proven track record of winning important appeals, particularly in areas such as administrative law, statutory interpretation, and eminent domain. She serves as lead counsel on appeals throughout Texas.

During her previous tenure as a Justice on Texas’s First Court of Appeals, Justice Caughey handled a wide range of civil and criminal appeals from Harris County and nine surrounding counties. She authored over 125 opinions, addressing various legal questions in civil, criminal, family, and probate law, and contributed to 454 cases.
