The panel of speakers will discuss key considerations to keep in mind when purchasing and evaluating a company’s insurance coverage.

Chris Thompson is a litigator specializing in all types of insurance disputes from coverage matters to bad faith cases to class actions. During his 17–year career at Jackson Walker, Chris has been retained by both insurance carriers and policyholders to advocate for them in disputes concerning a variety of coverage lines including commercial general and excess liability, director and officer liability, residential and commercial property, business interruption, professional malpractice, aviation, marine, and numerous other specialty lines (e.g. lender liability, credit/life/disability, “GAP,” motor cargo, elder care benefits, and many more).

Jeff Hamilton’s practice is concentrated in the areas of complex business litigation and bankruptcy litigation. He has significant experience with all aspects of bankruptcy proceedings, including commencing and defending bankruptcy claims, negotiating workouts and settlements, handling distressed properties and assets, and counseling distressed companies. His experience includes acting as a court-appointed Special Master and as Counsel to receivers in actions brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He represents clients in a variety of industries, with a primary focus on banking, securities, real estate, transportation, and insurance
