Wade Cooper Featured in Law360 on Texas’ 2026 Outlook

January 7, 2026 | Attorney News

Jackson Walker managing partner C. Wade Cooper was featured in Law360 discussing how Texas law firms are preparing for a robust 2026 as capital markets activity, corporate migrations, and the buildout of AI‑driven data infrastructure accelerate across the state.

In the article, firm leaders point to Texas’ business‑friendly regulatory environment, the maturing Texas Business Court, and the arrival of new stock exchanges in Dallas as key catalysts reshaping client demand. Energy and technology remain central to legal work statewide, with new work increasingly tied to the power requirements of AI and the development of large‑scale data centers.

Wade noted that the “diversity of Texas’ economy” and “the influx of some of the world’s most important companies to Texas” are providing ample work for Texas lawyers, but the need to generate electricity in the state is likely to be one of the most significant drivers of legal work in 2026 and beyond.

“We’re seeing one of the most remarkable booms that I can recall with artificial intelligence and the huge need to create electric generation capacity,” Wade said. “The whole ecosystem around the generation of electricity is creating a lot of activity for us in particular.”
