Jackson Walker L.L.P. successfully represented ClubCorp in relation to its recent acquisition of Atlanta-based Sequoia Golf.

Dallas-based ClubCorp (NYSE: MYCC) is a leading owner-operator of private golf and country clubs, business, sports, and alumni clubs in North America. On September 30, 2014, ClubCorp completed its purchase of Sequoia Golf, which owns and operates 50 clubs with significant concentrations in Atlanta and Houston and positions in the Denver and Chicago markets. The transaction expanded ClubCorp’s network to more than 200 private clubs.

A Jackson Walker team included attorneys Wes Strickland and Mallory Beck, and paralegal Donna Brown Willis, for due diligence and transition support related to water supply and environmental issues involved in the transaction. As water resources gain increased attention across the United States, assuring reliable water supplies is critical for many corporate operations, including golf courses.

Jackson Walker’s Environmental practice group has received recognition in the most recent editions of Chambers USA and the U.S. News — Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” rankings and has particular depth of experience representing clients in matters related to Water Supply, Water Quality, and Environmental Due Diligence. The group was enhanced earlier in 2014 when Mr. Strickland joined the firm, with his national water resources practice.
