Jackson Walker Represents Hines in Leasing Agreement with Skadden at Texas Tower

March 19, 2025 | Client Results

Jackson Walker attorneys April Vasquez Leibman and Taylor Lamb advised Houston-based Hines in negotiating a lease agreement at Texas Tower for international law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

Set to commence in April 2026, the lease agreement with Skadden covers a total of 52,000 square feet across two floors of Texas Tower. With this addition, the 47-story, one-million-square-foot, Class-AA office tower in downtown Houston has reached 99% capacity, leaving only 18,000 square feet of rentable space available in the building.

Located on the 800 block of Texas Avenue, Texas Tower is the former site of the Houston Chronicle and features over 1.14 million square feet of Class-AA office space, a conference facility, public gardens on level 12, and a fitness center. The tower has attained Platinum LEED, WELL, SmartScore, and WiredScore designations, distinguishing it as one of the few office buildings in the nation with such comprehensive certifications. Additionally, the tower holds the unique distinction of being the sole SmartScore Platinum-certified building in Houston and one of only four in the United States to boast both SmartScore and WiredScore Platinum certifications.
