Emilio Nicolas Elected to the Council of the State Bar of Texas’ Entertainment and Sports Law Section

Jackson Walker associate Emilio Nicolas was recently elected to the Council of the State Bar of Texas’ Entertainment and Sports Law Section.

Emilio will serve as a council member from 2010-2011. The council members of the State Bar of Texas’ Entertainment and Sports Law Section (TESLAW) provide resources and assistance to sports and entertainment attorneys all throughout the state. TESLAW is a voluntary organization that consists of more than 500 attorneys, and the group’s purpose is to promote and enhance the practice of law by all lawyers who focus on or have an interest in entertainment and sports law.

Emilio represents a variety of individuals and businesses in the entertainment, media and technology industries. His practice includes advising clients on the management, protection and enforcement of their intellectual property rights, and representing clients in their entertainment, media and intellectual property transactional and litigation matters. Emilio received his B.S. degree in business administration from Trinity University, his M.S. degree in media management from Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the Syracuse University College of Law, where he was a member of the Justinian Honorary Law Society and the Syracuse University College of Law Student Senate. He was also an executive editor of Syracuse Science & Technology Law Reporter.
