Jackson Walker partners Diana Pérez Gomez, Sarah Patel Pacheco, and former Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Nathan L. Hecht will be featured presenters at the 17th Annual Business Disputes Course. This event, organized by TexasBarCLE, is scheduled for September 11-12, 2025, in Austin, Texas.

Meet Diana

Diana Pérez Gomez is a partner in the Labor & Employment practice, representing businesses in complex employment disputes in state and federal courts. She provides comprehensive legal services, including counseling, investigations, EEO training, policy drafting, and employment agreement negotiations. Diana also defends clients in administrative proceedings and litigates cases involving non-competes, discrimination, retaliation, FLSA, and ERISA claims. Beyond litigation, she advises employers on compliance and best practices to minimize legal risks.

Meet Sarah

Sarah Patel Pacheco represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in Texas trial and appellate courts, focusing on probate and trust administration and litigation. She handles matters involving fiduciary duties, will contests, trust interpretation, and creditor representation. A recognized authority in trusts and estates, Sarah is the co-author of three legal treatises, a frequent State Bar of Texas speaker, and has held leadership roles with the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the Texas Pattern Jury Charges Committee.

Meet Chief Justice Hecht

Nathan L. Hecht is a partner in Jackson Walker’s Litigation practice group in Austin. As former Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court, he brings over four decades of judicial experience, including a record 36 years on the Court. During his tenure, Nathan authored 7,000 pages of opinions, heard more than 2,700 oral arguments, and led efforts to expand access to justice and modernize Texas courts. Nationally, he served on the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules of the Judicial Conference of the United States and was the longest-serving president of the Conference of Chief Justices.
