Jackson Walker partner Erica Benites Giese secured a complete victory for a technology-sector client that had been under investigation by both the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York.
After months of extensive advocacy and strategic engagement with government lawyers, the DOJ formally closed its criminal investigation without bringing any charges and released the client from all obligations imposed by prior grand-jury subpoenas.
The investigation stemmed from the DOJ’s broad probe into alleged anticompetitive conduct and procurement-related wrongdoing involving defense-related technology contracts. Throughout the matter, Jackson Walker maintained an open dialogue with the Antitrust Division and coordinated responses to multiple information requests while shielding the client from unnecessary disruption to its business operations.
