Tim Taylor Featured in ‘Austin Business Journal’ Discussing Corporate Battle of the Bands

Jackson Walker partner Tim Taylor was featured in an Austin Business Journal article about the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians’ (HAAM) annual Corporate Battle of the Bands.

Mr. Taylor served as master of ceremonies for the event, held on May 9 at ACL Live in downtown Austin, which featured nine bands made up of business professionals who play music as a hobby. The bands compete against each other before a panel of celebrity judges for the title of Best Corporate Band in Austin. HAAM provides access to affordable healthcare for Austin’s low-income, uninsured working musicians, with a focus on prevention and wellness.

Participants in this year’s Battle of the Bands included several Jackson Walker clients, and serving as a master of ceremonies offered a great opportunity to support those clients while raising money for a good cause, said Mr. Taylor, who has been a longtime supporter of HAAM’s work. In 2007-2009, Mr. Taylor served as HAAM Benefit Day committee chairman. In 2008, he also joined the HAAM Board of Directors, and in 2010, he was elected chairman of the board, a position he held through December 2012.

Mr. Taylor focuses his legal practice primarily on real estate and lending transactions. His practice includes representing individuals and businesses ranging from local investors to public companies in all aspects of real estate, from acquisition and development, to ownership, leasing, and management, and to subdivision and disposition. Mr. Taylor devotes a significant amount of his practice to land acquisition and development, particularly with respect to residential subdivisions and mixed use developments, and Mr. Taylor also works with local governments on land use and development issues for his clients.
