Jackson Walker is pleased to announce that Michael H. Bernick has joined as a partner in the Trial & Appellate Litigation practice in Houston. His practice focuses on commercial litigation with an emphasis on energy and banking matters.

Mike has over 10 years of experience handling lawsuits involving fraud, fraudulent transfers (TUFTA), and breach of fiduciary duty. Primarily, he represents energy clients, including commodity traders, E&P companies, midstream companies, and creditors and lenders in the energy space. He also advises banks, financial institutions, and lenders in disputes with debtors and co-creditors with post-judgment collection and fraudulent transfer issues.

Outside of his practice, Mike has helped clients pursue asylum claims and represented individuals with civil rights issues through Lambda Legal. For many years, he has served on the board of AFA, Houston’s largest non-profit music education organization serving over 3,000 Houston-area students annually. He is also a member of the Leadership Houston Class XXXIV, the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, and Houston Young Lawyers Association.
He graduated with his B.B.A., cum laude, from Texas Christian University in 2008 and his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law in 2011. He is licensed to practice law in Texas, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
