Jackson Walker is honored to announce that Zach Zurek has been selected as the recipient of the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association (SAYLA) 2026 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award.

The Outstanding Young Lawyer Award recognizes one young lawyer who has demonstrated professional proficiency, service to the legal profession, and service to the community.

The award is presented by SAYLA, which was formed in 1948 as a subgroup or committee of the San Antonio Bar Association (SABA), but later became a separate non-profit organization registered in the State of Texas and with the Internal Revenue Service. SAYLA plays a central role in supporting civic leadership and fostering engagement within San Antonio’s legal community.

Zach will be recognized at the 2026 San Antonio Bar Foundation Gala, which celebrates excellence, professionalism, and service within the San Antonio legal community.

Meet Zach

Zach Zurek represents businesses, banks, construction companies, families and individuals, fiduciaries, and healthcare professionals through litigation in both state and federal courts. Zach has also represented clients in FINRA, AHLA, AAA, JWA, JAMS, and private arbitrations.

In recognition of his practice, he has been honored as a “Texas Rising Star” for Business Litigation by Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers since 2019 and as a “Best S.A. Lawyer” by San Antonio Scene magazine since 2018. He was also invited and became a Fellow of both the Texas Bar Foundation and the San Antonio Bar Foundation in 2020.

In addition to his practice, Zach has volunteered his time as a Director of the Federal Bar Association, President of the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association, a Barrister of the William S. Sessions American Inns of Court, and a past director of the Alzheimer’s Association San Antonio Chapter. He is also a member of the Leadership San Antonio 50 class. He received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law, magna cum laude.
