Biography
Barri Dean is an attorney in the Trial & Appellate Litigation section of Jackson Walker’s Houston office. She brings significant experience managing complex disputes across federal and commercial matters.
Before joining Jackson Walker, Barri served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Texas, where she regularly appeared in federal court, handled grand jury investigations, and represented the United States through every stage of criminal proceedings. She also developed deep experience in complex federal litigation at a global law firm, managing multi‑agency investigations, leading dispositive motion practice, and supporting both bench and jury trials.
In addition to her extensive litigation background, Barri leverages her training as a registered nurse to navigate fiduciary matters involving capacity, competency, elder financial exploitation, and medical‑related evidentiary issues. Her clinical insight enhances her ability to evaluate witness credibility, analyze medical records, and develop compelling case strategies.
Barri is actively involved in pro bono and philanthropic endeavors and invests substantial time in mentoring newer attorneys, helping them grow both professionally and personally.
