Biography
Davis LaBarre is an attorney in the Trial & Appellate Litigation practice group in Jackson Walker’s Houston office. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on energy, oil & gas, and environmental disputes. He has represented both defendants and plaintiffs in a wide range of matters, including complex judgment enforcement, wire-fraud litigation, contract disputes, antitrust, federal securities, energy-related disputes, qui tam actions under the federal and state False Claims Acts, environmental matters (including CERCLA and state Superfund cleanups and related litigation), and products liability cases.
Davis has extensive experience appearing in federal and state courts, including securing a successful jury verdict and co-leading all pretrial activities in a multimillion-dollar dispute. He also regularly guides clients through arbitrations and mediations. As part of his practice, he prioritizes early, efficient resolutions and has recovered millions of dollars for clients pre-litigation.
While in law school, Davis served as a judicial extern to Chief Administrative Law Judge Carmen A. Cintron in the Office of Administrative Law Judges at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He also served on the editorial staff of the Wake Forest Law Review and was an active member of the Energy Bar Association and the Institute for Energy Law.
