Biography
Samuel Richards is an attorney in the trial and appellate litigation group of Jackson Walker’s Austin office. Samuel’s background includes work in a variety of litigation matters ranging from insurance class actions, multi-district litigation (MDLs), and antitrust litigation. Samuel leverages his experience with the Texas Attorney General’s office to effectively manage large, fact-intensive caseloads in a variety of practice areas.
Samuel served as a legal intern to the Clean Energy section of The Environmental Defense Fund while in law school, where he conducted research on and drafted memoranda regarding clean energy policies in Texas. Samuel deepened his knowledge of energy and environmental topics while serving as a summer law clerk to the State Office of Administrative Hearings, drafting proposals for decisions in the environmental legal field.
Prior to his legal career, Samuel served as the Lead Antitrust Investigator for the Texas Attorney General’s Office where he conducted intake, analysis, and investigation of high-priority antitrust complaints and coordinated document review across multi-state investigatory teams. He also regularly served as a liaison between the Attorney General and investigative partners and targets, while managing antitrust investigators and implementing operational efficiencies for the Division.
