Jackson Walker’s inaugural “6-1-1 Day of Service” on November 3—uniting volunteers across its six Texas offices—gained unexpected significance as it coincided with a federal government shutdown that temporarily halted SNAP benefits for millions.

Led by director of culture and engagement Chad Cole and chief human resources officer Nicola Noel, about 200 volunteers prepared thousands of meals for Texas families, assembled car-ready care kits for people experiencing homelessness, and launched a Dallas food drive benefiting The Stewpot with deliveries set for November 17. The firm plans to continue the initiative, with two additional 6-1-1 dates already scheduled for 2026.
