Byron Egan Speaks at UT School of Law’s Annual Conference

Byron spoke on a panel on Thursday, February 12, titled, “The Legal Landscape after Ritchie v. Rupe: Where Will the Battle Lines Be Drawn in Future Disputes between Majority and Minority Shareholders?” He spoke on another panel on Friday, February 13, on the topic of “How Recent Fiduciary Duty Cases Affect Advice to Directors and Officers of Delaware and Texas Corporations.”

The conference featured discussions of topics for those representing or working for public or private companies on business, finance, and governance matters. It was presented by the University of Texas School of Law, the Texas State Securities Board, the Fort Worth District Office of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Byron is engaged in a corporate, partnership, securities, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and financing practice. Byron has extensive experience in business entity formation and governance matters, M&A, and financing transactions in a wide variety of industries including energy, financial, and technology. In addition to handling transactions, he advises boards of directors and their audit, compensation, and special committees with respect to fiduciary duty and other corporate governance issues, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, special investigation, and other issues. Byron received his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
