February 12, 2025 | Attorney News

Jackson Walker proudly announces the appointment of Shayan Gaziani to the City of Richardson’s Charter Review Commission.

Convened once every ten years, the Charter Review Commission plays a critical role in shaping the governance of the City of Richardson. The city’s Charter is a foundational document that defines the city’s government structure and outlines the distribution of powers and responsibilities among its branches. The commission’s task is to ensure that the charter remains relevant and effective in guiding the city’s operations.

Members of the Charter Review Commission review the document to identify any provisions that may conflict with state or federal law, are unclear, or require other necessary updates. This thorough review process is essential to maintaining a charter that is both legally compliant and reflective of the city’s current needs and aspirations. After review by the city council, the commission’s proposed amendments will be presented to voters in the November 2025 elections.
