Jackson Walker partner Larry E. Glasgow will Co-Chair The University of Texas School of Law’s 19th Annual Mergers and Acquisitions Institute, recognized as the preeminent private M&A conference in the United States.

In addition, Jackson Walker partner Byron F. Egan will be a featured speaker during the Luncheon Presentation sponsored by the firm on Thursday, October 5, 2023. The presentation, titled “Texas Business Courts: The Dawn of a New Era,” will delve into recent Texas legislation establishing Business Courts with judges appointed by the Governor.

The conference takes place at The Ritz-Carlton in Dallas, Texas, on October 5-6, 2023.

Meet Larry

Larry E. Glasgow has a comprehensive corporate practice with particular emphasis in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions (on behalf of investors, issuers, and portfolio companies), venture capital, corporate governance issues, financings, joint ventures, and start-up counseling. He co-founded The University of Texas School of Law’s Mergers & Acquisitions Institute and continues as its Co-Chairman. Larry co-founded and served as a Chairman of both the ABA’s Mergers & Acquisitions Deal Trends Committee (which publishes the Deal Point Studies) and the Dallas Bar Association’s Mergers & Acquisitions Section. Larry is regularly recognized in Best Lawyers in AmericaTexas Super Lawyers, Who’s Who Legal: Thought Leaders (USA); M&A and Governance, and Best Lawyers of Dallas. He is a frequent author and speaker on corporate law topics. He is a member, and past Chairman, of the Board of Directors of The Business Council for the Arts.

Meet Byron

Byron F. Egan regularly handles business combinations of corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships, including mergers and acquisitions, purchases and sales of stock, and other equity interests, and sales and exchanges of assets. He also handles the related entity governance and structure issues. For more than 25 years Byron has been listed in Best Lawyers in America under corporate, M&A, or securities law. He has been recognized as one of the top corporate and M&A lawyers in Texas by a number of publications and is a four-time winner of the Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing. In 2023, Byron published the fourth edition of EGAN ON ENTITIES: Corporations, Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies in Texas (4th Edition 2023, a treatise on Texas, Delaware and other entity laws.
