Jackson Walker partner Jonathan Lass spoke at the University of Texas School of Law Technology Law Conference on May 24, 2014, in Austin, Texas.

The conference offers attendees insight from a nationally–recognized faculty of technology and licensing practitioners, in–house counsel from leading tech companies, and experts in copyright, trademark, open source, and data privacy and security on the latest issues affecting the technology industry. Mr. Lass’s presentation, “Technology, Ethics, and Electronic Discovery,” discussed electronic discovery problems, case law, and judicial perspective. Mr. Lass represents clients on corporate, technology and intellectual property transactions and complex projects. These transactions range from mergers and acquisitions to software licensing to outsourcing deals to data security issues. With both general counsel and law firm experience, Mr. Lass pursues a practical and problem solving approach to effectively achieving his client’s goals. He provides clients with strategic legal advisement, drafting, and negotiation throughout the transaction or project. Mr. Lass received his B.A., cum laude, from Emory University and his J. D. from the University of Texas School of Law. He was named a “Rising Star Lawyer in Texas” in 2010–2013 as published in Texas Monthly.
